Steve Weatherford
All of the jokes aimed at New York Jets punter Steve Weatherford are about to come to a screeching halt.
Weatherford missed the playoff win over the Cincinnati Bengals due to an irregular heartbeat according to Jets head coach Rex Ryan.
The initial reports from the Jets sideline stated that Weatherford had simply fallen ill, causing widespread speculation that he had the flu, a stomach bug or something of that variety.
Then came the onslaught of comments and jokes aimed in his direction for not toughing it out and playing.
In reality, it was a heart problem that sidelined him.
Of course, had that been know, the situation likely would have been very different. Placekicker Jay Feely did a good job filling in for him last minute, though.
