Jets’ Ellis To Play In AFC Championship With Broken Hand

New York Jets Defensive End, Shaun Ellis, expects to play with a broken hand in next Sunday’s AFC Championship against the Indianapolis Colts.

Ellis broke his left hand on the Jets’ 1st defensive play from scrimmage in yesterday’s big 17-14 win against the San Diego Chargers. Ellis returned to the game after having his hand wrapped in a ‘club-like’ manner.

Ellis told reporters that he will have surgery to place 2 screws into his hand after the AFC Championship, whether they beat the Colts or not. Should the Jets be victorious, Ellis will have 2 weeks to allow the hand to heal.

Ellis, 3rd on the Jets’ career sack list,  is one tough dude.
