D'Anthony Smith was placed on IR by the Jaguars Tuesday
The Jacksonville Jaguars have ended rookie D’Anthony Smith’s season by placing him on the injured/reserve list. The defensive end from Louisiana Tech suffered injured his Achilles tendon on the fourth day of training camp and required surgery to repair it.
Also placed on IR was John Estes, a center from Hawaii. Estes joined the team as an undrafted free agent. Tania Ganguli of Florida Times-Union says that the rookie injured his right medial cruciate ligament on the last play of training camp.
The Titans also waived four players: center Cecil Newton, receiver Roren Thomas, cornerback Josh Gordy, and defensive end Julius Williams.
Undrafted free agent Bradley Vierling was signed to address a shortage at the center position.
The roster changes give the Jaguars 75 players.
