Wade Phillips isn’t being assured of another season with the Dallas Cowboys, but Jerry Jones won’t make him wait long after the season to find out his fate.

Phillips and Jones will meet “within a day or two” after the team plays their final game of the season, whether it be this weekend or the Super Bowl, to discuss the future of the Cowboys’ coach according to Todd Archer of the Dallas Morning News.

“It’s not something I wanted to talk about here a month ago when the issue was more about, well, changing, that was kind of the tenor where the energy was,” Jones said per Archer’s report. “I didn’t want to talk about it then and I don’t want to talk about it now. What I have said is to give you insight into the thinking that’s going on, but as I’ve mentioned and it’s not being trite, but it’s not as though you had technical work to do here. Something is in place.”
