Four Injured After Stage Collapses at Super Bowl Stadium

Four volunteer workers were injured on Tuesday night when a stage they were assembling outside Sun Life Stadium in Miami collapsed.

The stage was being assembled for a rehearsal of Sunday’s Super Bowl halftime show according to NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy.

Two of the volunteers had to be airlifted to a Miami area trauma center. The other two people injured were transported in an ambulance. All four were alert and conscious when fire and rescue arrived.

The collapse occurred around 8:30 p.m. after a large piece of the stage tipped over.

None of the injuries are life threatening according to the Miami Herald.

Sunday’s halftime show will be headlined by The Who.
