Former New York Giants defensive coordinator Bill Sheridan is expected to become the new linebackers coach of the Miami Dolphins according to Michael Lombardi of the NFL Network.
Tom Coughlin gave Sheridan a pink slip last week along with another coach.
This won’t be his first go around with linebacking corps. Sheridan previously held the same title with the Giants before being promoted to defensive coordinator after Steve Spagnuolo left the team to become head coach of the St. Louis Rams.
Meanwhile, Miami fired defensive coordinator Paul Pasqualoni on Monday. It’s relatively surprising that Sheridan was not interviewed for that position.

Chuck,
After having read your article, please allow me to offer the following two comments. First of all the Giants did not fire “a number of other coaches” besides Sheriden. In fact they fired but one additional coach – defensive line coach Mike Waufle. Secondly, you made the following statement:
“Meanwhile, Miami fired defensive coordinator Paul Pasqualoni on Monday. It’s relatively surprising that Sheridan was not interviewed for that position.”
I suggest it would have been surprising if the Dolphins had interviewed him for the defensive coordinator job. Heck, I’m surprised they interviewed him at all – for any job! The Giants gave up more points than only two other teams in 2009. And, they played uninspired football in every “must win” game. Buckle up, Dolphin fans, you’re in for a tough 2010 season.
I think he will be the ILB coach….
