Former Buffalo Bills interim head coach Perry Fewell is the likely candidate to become the new Chicago Bears defensive coordinator.

He is scheduled to meet with team brass in Chicago on Monday according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Bills dismissed Fewell along with the entire coaching staff on January 4.

Fewell and Bears head coach Lovie Smith have worked together on two separate occasions in the past and are rumored to have a good relationship.

He has also interviewed for the same position with the New York Giants.

As for the Bears’ offensive coordinator opening, the team continues to target USC coordinator Jeremy Bates.

However, there is also a good chance he will land in Seattle when Pete Carroll gets hired.
