Favre’s Return a Brief One: Four Plays, One Pass and One Hell of a Sack

Brett Favre

Brett Favre's return to the NFL was a brief one Saturday night in San Francisco.

Four plays. That’s how long Brett Favre played Sunday night in his first game since coming out of pseudo retirement.

Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress stated earlier in the week that Favre would see as many as 10 snaps, but settled for much less against the 49ers.

Favre finished the night 1-of-1 passing for 13 yards. His only pass was a 13 yard screen to Adrian Peterson on the first play out of the gate.

He was also sacked by 49ers ILB Patrick Willis as virtually the whole San Francisco defense broke through the Minnesota line.

The rest of the time he handed the ball off.
