Falcons hold Robinson out of Miami game

Dunta Robinson

Dunta Robinson missed his third straight preseason game Friday night

Dunta Robinson, the prize free agent pickup in the offseason, missed his third straight preseason game Friday night because of a minor hamstring injury.

Robinson had been expected to see some game action against the Dolphins, but Coach Mike Smith made the decision right before kickoff to scrap those plans and held Robinson out for precautionary reasons.

“We made a decision and as I said all week-long–really over the last eight or nine days–all the players that are injured are going to be game-time decisions,” Smith said. “We thought it was just best to hold Dunta out. Anybody that has been to our practices knows that he has been a full participant in all of them. We just feel like it was in the best interest of our football team for the regular season to hold him out.”

Reserve Christopher Owens took Robinson’s place in the starting lineup.
