Recently fired Washington Redskins coach Jim Zorn could land a job with the Chicago Bears next season.
Zorn is a candidate to become the Bears’ new offensive coordinator or quarterbacks’ coach according to Kip Lewis of CSN.
Current New York Giants offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride is also up for the same position.
USC offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates’ name has also surfaced in the Chicago area, but could follow Pete Carroll to the Seattle Seahawks instead.
No word yet a timetable for a decision from the team.

Zorn was not the problem with our offense – Vinny Cerrato tried to pin the fault on Zorn when, in fact, the low productivity of the Skins offense was due to the crumbling of an aging/ailing O-Line which was Cerrato’s fault for not following the suggestions of the coaching staff. They asked for OL help last off season and only got one new linemen when they needed 3-4. Cerrato and owner Snyder wanted Haynesworth more than they wanted a good O-line.
When the OL was somewhat healthy in 2008, Zorn’s offense beat the Saints, the super bowl bound Cardinals, Dallas in Dallas, and Philly in Philly during a four game stretch. That’s when our OL started to fall apart. Zorn is a great coach and play-caller; he just didn’t get the support that he needed in DC.
Zorn is a super QB coach, but not and OC. Good guy, hope he gets what he wants. At least he walked away from DC with a bunch of Snyder’s money.
