Eli Manning Won’t Blame Injury for Poor Performance

Eli Manning said he was just a little rusty against the Ravens

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning was far from impressive in Saturday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.

While it would be easy to blame the bloody blow he took in the preseason opener for his performance, Manning isn’t willing to go that route.

“I guess I felt a little rusty,” the Giants quarterback told Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPNNewYork.com following the game. “A couple of throws I made were tough. I want to look at the film. We have room for some improvement. The preseason is all about getting our rhythm back. We’ll be ready.”

Manning was 9-of-18 passing for 63 yards and a pick against the historically tough Ravens defense.
