The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to pay quarterback Michael Vick a $1.5 million roster bonus on Tuesday.
However, it does not necessarily mean that Vick will be back next season.
Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that by picking up the bonus the team would gain leverage in negotiations with potentially interested teams.
There have been conflicting reports about Vick’s future with the franchise.
Some are steadfast that the team will keep all three current quarterbacks next season.
Some are steadfast that it is Donovan McNabb that is on his way out of town.
Our gut tells us that where this is smoke, there is fire. And there has certainly been an awful lot of smoke in Philadelphia this offseason.
