The Philadelphia Eagles placed rookie fifth-round pick Ricky Sapp on injured reserve Tuesday, ending his 2010 season.

They then acted quickly and claimed defensive end Pannel Egboh off waivers from the Houston Texans.

Sapp underwent an MRI on his right knee after tweaking it recently. The results must not have been good.

The 6-4, 252-pound defensive lineman suffered a partial tear to his ACL as a junior at Clemson and never fully recovered according to Jonathan Tamari of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Egboh, meanwhile, was waived by the Texans on Sunday. The Standford product spent the final four weeks of 2009 on their practice squad after being cut by the San Francisco 49ers prior to the start of last season.
