Jamaal Jackson could be back in time for the season opener
Andy Reid ruled out Jamaal Jackson for Thursday’s preseason finale against the New York Jets, but is hopeful he will be available Sept. 12 for the regular season opener.
Jackson, who is trying to come back from a torn ACL last Dec. 27, practiced some with the first-team offense Sunday.
“We’re going to work him in there with the ones and let him get some reps, see how he feels and push him a little bit there, and just see how he responds,” Reid said, per Jonathan Tamari of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
“I just have to make sure I feel comfortable that he can play. It’s just that… We’ll put him in situations where we give him all of these looks over the next couple of weeks.”
Reid added that there was a chance he could wait until the night before the first game to name his starting center.
