Miami Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter wants to be traded.

The 33-year feels that the team is not using him to his full potential and that he’s not willing to be just a role player for the franchise.

“I don’t get paid like a rotation guy, so I’m not ready to take that role,” Porter said Monday on the Jim Rome Show. “I’m not ready to be a role player. I’m still a starter.”

The Dolphins don’t intend to keep Porter around for 2010 anyway according to PFT, so it could be a moot point. But if they decide to keep him, chaos could ensue.

“They can pay me and keep me on the team, but I won’t be happy,” Porter added. “Why keep a guy there that you want to make a role player?”

He is due to earn a $3.6 million base salary next season with a $1 million roster bonus set to come on Mar. 1.
