One day after acquiring Brady Quinn from the Cleveland Browns, the Denver Broncos bid adieu to quarterback Chris Simms.

Simms, who backed up Kyle Orton last season, was released according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post.

Last season the son of Phil Simms saw action in three games— completing five of 17 passing attempts and earning 23 yards through the air.

He was also picked off once.

The 29-year-old had his best season in 2005 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Mike Florio of PFT speculates that Simms could land with the Washington Redskins due to his close relationship with offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan.
