The Cleveland Browns’ back-up quarterback Seneca Wallace threw two touchdown passes to lead his team to a 27-24 win at Green Bay Saturday night.
As the clock was about to expire, Phil Dawson made a 46-yard field goal to clinch a Cleveland victory. Dawson’s previous field goal came at 1:27 in the fourth quarter, which had tied the game.
After having a sub-par season last year in Carolina, Jake Delhomme made an impressive debut as the Bowns’ starting QB. In his only drive of the game, Delhomme guided his team to a touchdown.
Delhomme threw for 66 yards, including a 12-yard pass to Mohamed Massaquoi, which paved the way for Jerome Harrison’s touchdown.
Aaron Rodgers was also on-target as Green Bay’s signal caller, throwing a 25-yard touchdown to Greg Jennings, and finishing 12-for-13 for 159 yards.
Wallace’s touchdown pass to Brian Robiskie gave the Browns a 14-0 lead against the Packers. In the beginning of the second quarter, he found Benjamin Watson and tossed a 20-yard pass to break a tied game.
Third-string QB Colt McCoy, Cleveland’s third-round pick, made his NFL debut completing 5 out of 10 passes for 25 yards and two interceptions. After following through on a pass and banging his hand on a teammate’s helmet, McCoy ended his night with a trip to locker room.
Green Bay’s Ryan Grant also took a trip to the locker room in the second quarter after suffering a hard hit to the head, costing the Packers their starting running back for the remainder of the game.
