Daunte Culpepper
Daunte Culpepper appears ready to leave the NFL behind in favor of the UFL.
The once great quarterback is on the verge of signing with the Sacramento Mountain Lions according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The deal would easily make him one of the league’s biggest name players.
Culpepper, 33, will reunite with Dennis Green in Sacramento. The pair each had their greatest successes in the NFL while with the Minnesota Vikings.
The large statured quarterback spent the previous two seasons with the Detroit Lions.
He threw for 945 yards and three touchdowns while completing 89 of 157 passing attempts last season as Matthew Stafford’s backup. He also added six picks to the stat line.
We wonder if the UFL will see a big influx of NFL talent if there is indeed a work stoppage in 2011.
