Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has given his endorsement to coach Wade Phillips… finally.

Jones and the Cowboys signed Phillips to a two-year contract extension that will keep him with the team through 2011.

The team dropped the option on his current contract for the 2010 season, but added two more years according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

A news conference is scheduled for Thursday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. eastern.

Phillips was able to turn the Cowboys dismal December fortunes around this season, as well as end the team’s 13-year playoff win drought.
