It’s official. The Dallas Cowboys are off the playoff schneid after defeating the Philadelphia Eagles 34-14 on Saturday night.
Frankly, the game wasn’t as close as the score would indicate.
Felix Jones ran wild on the Eagles defense, racking up 148 yards on 16 carries, finding the end zone once along the way.
Tony Romo quieted his playoff critics by turning in a 23-of-35 passing performace, good for 244 yards and two touchdowns. He did not throw an interception.
Miles Austin continued to prove that he was Dallas’ elite receiver, catching seven passes for 82 yards and a touchdown.
Roy Williams, who had been quiet for most of the season, brought his “A” game as well. Romo connected with him five times for 59 yards.
Dominated for the second time in as many weeks by these same Dallas Cowboys, the Eagles turned the ball over five times in “Big D.”
Donovan McNabb threw for 230 yards and one touchdown behind 19-of-37 passing. The majority of those yards came in the second half.
His favorite target was Jeremy Maclin who caught seven passes for 146 yards and a touchdown.
The game will go down in history as the most penalized playoff game in NFL history. The two teams combined for 23 yellow flags and 228 penalty yards.
The Cowboys now become spectators for Sunday’s playoff game between the Green Bay Packers and Arizona Cardinals which determines their opponent for next week.
