The Cowboys shipped Patrick Crayton to the Bolts for a seventh-round pick
The Dallas Cowboys traded wide receiver Patrick Crayton to the San Diego Chargers for a seventh-round draft pick Friday afternoon.
Crayton’s agent was going to ask that his client be released from his contract prior to the inevitable roster cut Saturday afternoon, but the trade negates that idea.
Crayton will add depth to the Chargers wide receiver corps which is still without Vincent Jackson who is hell bent on holding out.
San Diego picks up the tab on the 31-year-old’s $2 million contract this season, which the Cowboys had no intention of paying to him as the team’s fourth receiver.
He should have an immediate impact with the Bolts.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter was the first to report to the terms of the trade.
