Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones Had Major Surgery Before Camp

Jerry Jones

Jerry Jones revealed he had major surgery just days before Cowboys opened camp.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones discretely underwent major surgery just days before the team opened training camp.

The 68-year-old owner said that he was feeling better and making a full recovery, but would not disclose the exact nature of the operation other than to say it was not life-threatening or heart-related according to Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com.

“The bottom line is I have been kinda easing it around a little bit, but that’s about over with,” Jones said on Sunday. “With a couple of limitations.”

Despite his advancing age, Jones insists being in his late 60′s has nothing to do his condition.

“The age is not the deal,” he told Watkins. “It’s the energy and the interest. I mean this very much. I have as much passion and energy in what we’re going to do out here in practice [as] I did the first time I went out to Thousand Oaks [in 1989].”
