Cornerback Bryon Westbrook is still a member of the Washington Redskins and earlier reports that he had been cut were wrong.
Earlier today, Adam Schefter of ESPN tweeted that the younger of the Westbrooks had been cut. However, since then, the report has been squashed and Byron Westbrook is planning to be in Arizona where the Redskins will play the Cardinals tomorrow night according to the Washington Post.
Of course, there are still cuts coming up. On September 4th, teams must make their 53-man roster final and the cornerback position is deep for the Redskins. They currently have DeAngelo Hall, Carlos Rogers, Byron Westbrook, Kevin Barnes, Phillip Buchanan, Ramzee Robinson and Justin Tryon all vying for spots. While there has been nothing definitive said by coaches as to how many corners the team will keep, seven is a lot. But you never know.
What we do know is that Westbrook still wears the burgundy and gold for now.
