Dwight Freeney
In what could be a huge blow to the Indianapolis Colts defense, Dwight Freeney has a torn ligament in his right ankle putting his hopes of playing in the Super Bowl next Sunday in jeopardy.
The injury “will make it difficult for him to play if he plays at all” according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Prior to the Pro Bowl, Colts quarterback Peyton Manning said that the defensive end was one of the team’s best players. However, he is also confident that somebody will step up if he is unable to go.
In an effort to shorten the recovery time, Freeney has been using a hyperbaric chamber this week.
He was unable to practice this week.
