The Kansas City Chiefs have placed backup tight end Brad Cottam on the reserve/physically unable to perform list, effectively ending his season.
Already behind Leonard Pope and rookie Tony Moeaki on the depth chart, Cottam didn’t participate in any of the Chiefs’ offseason workouts.
Drafted in 2008 out of Tennessee, the former Volunteer started just one game for the Chiefs in 2009, totalling nine receptions and 120 yards.
Cottam broke his neck during a late-season game against Cleveland last year and had surgery.
