Chiefs Sign Third-rounder Asamoah to Four-year, $2.7M Deal

Jon Asamoah signed a four-year, $2.7 million deal Thursday morning.

The Kansas City Chiefs signed third-round pick (No. 68 overall) OL Jon Asamoah to a four-year contract Thursday morning.

Asamoah will receive a maximum of $2.7 million, with $900,000 guaranteed according to Kansas City radio host Nick Wright.

The 6-foot-4, 305-pounder from Illinois started every game in each of the last three seasons.

Asamoah earned second-team All-Big Ten honors as a senior in addition to the 2010 Big Ten Conference Medal of Honor for his achievements in the classroom as well as on the playing field.

His signing leaves only three third-round draft choices unsigned.

The remaining holdouts should have deals in place shortly.
