Clancy Pendergast and the Kansas City Chiefs finally parted ways on Thursday, about a month later than most thought the separation would come.
If the Chiefs didn’t pull the trigger on him following their atrocious season, certainly they would when they replaced him with Romeo Crennel. But they didn’t.
Instead, he hung around for another two weeks amidst reports that head coach Todd Haley wanted him to stay on in some capacity.
Now, the two sides have decided to mutually part ways according to the Kansas City Star.
No word yet on where he may be headed.
The team also hired wide receivers coach Richie Anderson and assistant coach – defense Anthony Pleasant on Thursday.
In addition, the Chiefs announced that Bob Bicknell and Dedric Ward would not be back in 2010.
