Chiefs' backup QB Brodie Croyle

the Kansas City Star.Chiefs backup quarterback Brodie Croyle returned to the practice field last week, but didn’t throw the football until Monday after being held out of the previous two weeks of the preseason with an injury to his right arm, according to Kent Babb of

“It was good to see him out there,” coach Todd Haley said. “He’s one of the guys that has to get better to help us become a good team. To see him out there and get through, with no issues, I thought it was a good sign.

“He didn’t look overly rusty, although we all had cans of Rust-Oleum in our pockets.”

Following Croyle’s injury the Chiefs signed free agent quarterback Bill Stull to provide some depth during his absence.

Stull was cut Sunday with three other players as the Chiefs trimmed their roster.
