It has been a busy day for NFL players on the police blotter.
First, former NFL lineman Chris Terry was arrested on drug and gun charges. Now, San Diego Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson is staring down the barrel of a six month jail sentence and/or a $1,000 fine on two counts of driving on a suspended license according to a report in the San Diego Union Tribune.
The incident occurred shortly before the Chargers playoff game against the New York Jets on Jan. 17. Police initially stopped Jackson’s vehicle for playing his music too loud, but soon discovered the suspended status of his license.
He doesn’t seem to be too worried about the possible consequences, however. During a radio interview on Monday Jackson stated that it was “just a ticket, just a driving violation.”
Maybe he was surprised by today’s revelations.
Charges are still pending against the Charger wide receiver for a January 2009 arrest on suspicion of DUI. Not helping matters is the fact that he was on probation for another DUI conviction in 2006.
