Chargers Still Looking to Trade WR Jackson

Vincent Jackson

Vincent Jackson is still waiting for a new contract

Apparently realizing that he wasn’t going to receive the five-year, fifty million dollar contract that he was seeking, Vincent Jackson’s camp has let it be known that the wideout’s asking price has come down considerably.

The San Diego Union-Tribune’s Kevin Acee reports that the one-year deal for  $7 million that sources close to Jackson said that he would be willing to accept could be what he eventually receives from another team.

However, such a deal would bring less return in a trade for the Chargers and could derail any possible negotiations.

Jackson is suspended the first three games of the season due to his two DUI arrests.

He is also on the Roster Exempt List, which means he has to sit out three games after signing with a team.

If Jackson signs a deal by 3pm Saturday, he could serve his suspension concurrently with the games missed due to his Roster Exempt status.

Seattle, Minnesota, and Washington have been rumored to have interest in a possible trade for Jackson.
