Chad Ochocinco is headed to the Pro Bowl in South Florida after all.
By virtue of the injuries to Wes Welker and Randy Moss of the New England Patriots, the outspoken Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver will get to suit up.
He will be the lone representative from his team. When the rosters were first announced no Cincinnati player made the cut, marking the first time since 1970 a division winner failed to send a single player.
“This is extremely great news,” Ochocinco said of his sixth Pro Bowl selection.
“I appreciate the recognition of the body of work I put in this season. But please let me share with my teammates. Cedric Benson — none of it would have happened without him. And Carson [Palmer] and my offensive line and everybody. I love you all.”
The Bengals were eliminated from the playoffs last week by the New York Jets.
