Carolina Panthers Fire Special Teams Coach Crossman

John Fox may have survived in Carolina, but special teams coordinator Danny Crossman did not.

The Panthers fired Crossman on Thursday after seven seasons with the team, dating back to 2003.

He had one year remaining on his contract.

Was the firing justified? The Pathers’ 2009 statistics speak for themselves.

This season Carolina finished 31st in kickoff return average, 30th in kickoff coverage and 29th in punt return coverage.
