Arizona Cardinals defensive end Bertrand Berry is retiring from the NFL after 12 seasons. He made the announcement Thursday on his “Big Red Rage” weekly radio show.

It’s time,” Berry said on the show. “I’ve given a lot of my life to the game, I have played the game at a high level and I have tried to represent myself the best I could. I think I have played the game the right way, I think I have respected the game and I think I left the game a little better than when I came in.

“I am proud of my career and what I accomplished. At this point, there isn’t much more I can do. I was able to live out my dream for 13 years and I have no regrets.”

Berry was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts out of Notre Dame in 1997 and also had stints with the Rams, Broncos and Cardinals.

He finishes his career with 65 sacks.

Meanwhile, the Cardinals continue to await a decision on retirement from Kurt Warner. As of Tuesday he was leaning towards hanging it up.
