Cable Liked Boller’s Performance, Frye and Brennan Very Longshots

Kyle Boller

Tom Cable was a fan of Kyle Boller's performance vs the Cowboys

Not that there was any doubt, but Oakland Raiders head coach Tom Cable confirmed he was a fan of Kyle Boller’s performance in last week’s preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys.

“I like it. I liked how he battled,” Cable told reporters following Monday’s practice. “I thought he made some big throws a couple of times to move the team in some situations.”

Boller likely solidified himself as the team’s No. 3 quarterback and could put the nail in the coffin this week against the Chicago Bears.

Charlie Frye continues to be sidelined with a mysterious hand injury. One has to wonder if an injury settlement and release could be in his future.

Colt Brennan, meanwhile, is yet to see action in a game and is a very longshot to earn a roster spot.

Barring injuries and unforeseen circumstances the Raiders quarterback depth chart will have Jason Campbell as the starter, Bruce Gradkowski as the backup and Boller as the third option.
