St. Louis Rams quarterback Marc Bulger has cleaned out his locker and could be on his way out of town.

Long time sportscaster Howard Balzer first reported the Bulger update this morning on his Twitter account.

“Many players take a lot from their lockers at the end of the season,” Balzer wrote. “I was told Bulger cleaned his because he doesn’t expect to be back.”

Meanwhile, the Rams are downplaying the report.

According to Steve Wyche of NFL.com, Bulger wouldn’t mind returning for the 2010 season, but that he wouldn’t mind a fresh start elsewhere either.

He’s scheduled to earn $8.5 million with St. Louis next season.

With the team having the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, taking a quarterback is certainly not out of the question. However, the Rams could also be in the market for a veteran quarterback such as Michael Vick or Jason Campbell according to Wyche.
