The Tampa Bay Buccaneers confirmed that head coach Raheem Morris will be back with the team in 2010 late Monday night.
“We are committed to the plan that we began 12 months ago with Coach Morris, and we look forward to building on the pieces that were put in place this season,” Buccaneers co-chair Joel Glazer said in a statement on Pewterreport.com.
There had been talk that he would be ousted after just one season, but his fortunes may have changed after guiding his team to a win over the New Orleans Saints.
Morris was 3-13 as head coach with the Buccaneers in 2009.
Former Pittsburgh Steelers coach Bill Cowher was rumored to be in the running to take over for Morris, but is likely to remain with CBS as a studio analyst next season according to ESPN.
