The Cleveland Browns signed sixth-round draft pick Carlton Mitchell to a four-year deal on Wednesday.
A product of South Florida, the 6-foot-3, 215-pound Mitchell may find himself with more opportunities in Cleveland than he would elsewhere due to the Browns’ thin receiving corps.
Ken Paxson of the Dayton Daily News noted that he is a rare size-and-speed combination receiver that is extremely quick and explosive off the snap.
Known as a student of the game, Mitchell’s good hands and leg strength will also prove helpful in the pros.
He decided to forgo his senior year at South Florida to enter the NFL draft.
The rookie wideout seems to be at home with the Cleveland fans, choosing a Browns color scheme for his official website carltonmitchell.net.
