According to Joshua Cribbs, his playing days with the Cleveland Browns are over.

Cribbs and his agents were appalled by the teams low ball offer of $1.4 million annually and have decided that the he does not fit into Mike Holmgren’s plans for the team.

“[I feel] like I’ve been betrayed and stabbed in the back,” said Cribbs to the Cleveland Plain Dealer regarding the offer. “I’m not just insulted by the number, but by the fact they consider me just a kick returner. I’m so much more than that.”

Cribbs returned to the Browns facility Thursday to clean out his locker. He also took the opportunity to bid adieu to a number of people.

“I said good-bye to some people on the medical staff, some of the equipment guys and the coaches,” the Pro Bowl player said. “I wished the coaches luck and told them I hoped they kept their job. But it absolutely felt like the last time I’d be setting foot inside the building. I feel like it’s over for me in Cleveland.”

He also said that he was thrilled the team decided to retain Eric Mangini and that he believes his play in the final four games of the season had something to do with that decision.
