Broncos Trim Roster, Cut Eight

Denver released eight players, including linebacker Jammie Kirlew

The Denver Broncos began the tough process of trimming their roster Friday, needing to make 21 roster moves before 4 p.m. MT Saturday.

First on the chopping block were seventh-round draft pick Jammie Kirlew, nose tackle Chris Baker, tight ends Korry Sperry and Nate Overbay, offensive lineman Paul Duncan, receiver Alric Arnett and linebacker Johnny Williams, according to Lyndsay Jones of the Denver Post.

The big surprise was Kirlew, a seventh-round pick in 2010 who fell down the depth chart at outside linebacker when the team signed Jason Hunter two weeks ago.

Denver officially placed running back LenDale White on the Injured Reserve list, officially ending his season.

White tore his Achilles tendon Thursday in Minnesota.
