Broncos’ Starters to Play Majority of First Quarter

While most coaches prefer to sit their starters for the fourth and final preseason game, Denver Broncos’ head coach Josh McDaniels plans to let his starters play well into the first quarter, according to Jeff Legwold of the Denver Post.

“Last year we played them a decent chunk in the first quarter,” McDaniels said. “We don’t put a play limit on them. There are some players that we want to see — if they can play this week. They’re going to play and they’re going to play more than three or four plays.”

Left tackle Ryan Clady is expected to play a few snaps against the Vikings, and running back Knowshon Moreno said he hopes to play some as well.

Vikings quarterback Brett Favre had fluid removed from his surgically repaired left ankle, and is not expected to play vs. the Broncos.
