Syd'Quan Thompson
The Denver Broncos signed their seventh-round draft choice Syd’Quan Thompson to a contract on Friday.
The 23-year-old cornerback out of the University of California was the 225th overall pick in the NFL Draft.
His statistics and consistency in college could have earned him a pick earlier in the draft, but his small stature likely worked against him.
Thompson started all 52 games during his collegiate career, en route to All-Pac-10 Conference honors in both his junior and senior seasons.
The 5-foot-9, 187 pounder deflected 36 passes while picking off seven passes and registering 257 tackles (20 for a loss) while playing for the Golden Bears.
The two sides agreed to a four-year deal worth around $1.847 million according to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post.
