Broncos’ Brady Quinn: “I Want to Play”

Make no mistake about it, Brady Quinn doesn’t want to ride the bench in Denver… he wants to play.

“I’ll put it this way, I think every quarterback on our roster wants to play,” Quinn told the Associated Press. “Believe me, whether it’s Tom (Brandstater), Kyle, or myself, we’re all quarterbacks. We’re going to be team players first, but we all want to be out there playing.”

The Denver Broncos aren’t commenting publicly about their quarterback situation, but it is widely believed that the former Notre Dame QB will compete with current starter Kyle Orton for the job.

When asked whether the team promised him a chance to start when he was first traded, Quinn declined to answer outright.

“Really, those conversations are private at this point,” he said. “But I think all of us quarterbacks are going to be working our best to compete with one another and make each other better.”

Quinn, who started nine games for the Cleveland Browns last season, began OTAs with the Broncos on Monday after passing a physical.
