Brett Favre needed assistance getting off the field after taking a hit from two New Orleans Saints defenders.
Remi Ayodele and Bobby McCray of the New Orleans Saints each got a piece of the Vikings quarterback who injured his left ankle on the play.
The training staff taped up his ankle for extra support as he grimaced in pain on the sideline.
Backup quarterback Tarvaris Jackson warmed, but did not enter the game. Instead, Favre hobbled back on to the field for the Vikings next possession and tried to play through the pain.
