The Bills have parted ways with QB Levi Brown, waiving the rookie earlier today.
Aaron Wilson said via Twitter that Brown would not make the roster, but is still a strong practice squad candidate. The 23-year-old was 15 of 30 for 130 yards with two interceptions in three preseason games.
The departure of Brown, who Buffalo drafted in the 7th round this year, means that Brian Brohm will stay on as the team’s third quarterback, behind Trent Edwards and Ryan Fitzpatrick, despite an inconsistent preseason. The former Louisville star completed 56.7 percent of his passes in 2 games, but had no TDs and could only muster a 7 of 15, 78-yard with an INT performance when his roster spot was on his line vs. Detroit on Thursday.
In 2009 Brown broke the Troy University and Sunbelt Conference record by passing for 4,254 yards and finished second in the nation in passing yards.
The Bills open 2010 at home against Miami on Sept. 12.
