Bills “Looking Forward” to Facing Ex-Teammate Owens, Ochocinco on Saturday

S Donte Whitner said the rejuvenated Bills secondary is "looking forward" to Saturday's meeting with Bengals WRs Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco.

A rejuvenated Buffalo secondary is excited to showcase their skills against the Cincinnati Bengals, and ex-Bills WR Terrell Owens, during Saturday’s preseason game.

“”I’m looking forward to seeing T.O. and [Chad] Ochocinco,” S Donte Whitner told ESPN.com. “[T.O.] sent me a couple messages on Twitter. It’s all a lot of fun, but when we go out there on the football field we expect to go out there and have a great showing against those guys. ”

Whitner poked some fun at the duo himself last week, tweeting, “”Hey @terrellowens and @OGOchoCinco did u guys watch our Indy Film yet? Hope so, have a great day guys!”

The Bills were coming of a 42-17 stomping at the hands of the Redskins in their preseason opener when they caught the Colts by surprise last week, beating them 34-21 in Toronto. The defense was especially impressive, holding the Indianapolis offense to 297 total yards and QB Peyton Manning to a 66.3 passer rating.

“[We took] a big leap going against an offense like [the Colts]. I think we’re headed in the right direction, but you’re only as good as your last game,” said Bills CB Terrence McGee, who ran an INT back 78-yards in the game.  “We’ve got to come out here and cut down on the mental mistakes and go out there and make some plays. The Bengals have a great quarterback, great receivers, great running back – just a great offense total. So, we’re definitely going to have our hands full.”

Buffalo is extremely deep at cornerback and safety and will only get stronger with S Jairus Byrd, who made the Pro Bowl as a rookie last year, expected to rejoin the team from groin surgery Week 1. “We feel like we’re one of the top secondaries in the National Football League, and we have to go out and show it each and every Sunday,” Whitner added.B

Buffalo’s performance Saturday will go a long way to prove Whitner’s claim, as Owens won’t be the only one causing trouble for the Bills secondary. “[It’s] more than T.O. They’ve got Chad [Ochocinco] over there. They’ve got a whole bunch of good receivers. So, it’s definitely going to be a challenge,” McGee said.

Owens return will be fun for both team’s fans, but McGee said he doesn’t know if he looks at it the same way. “Fun? It’s definitely going to be good to see him, but it’s no fun in games when you’re out there trying to cover him, or covering whoever they’ve got out there,” he said.
