Bengals QB Palmer to Undergo Thumb Surgery Following Playoff Loss

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer is scheduled to undergo surgery next week to repair ligament damage in his left thumb.

The injury originally occurred in October and Palmer has been toughing it out since then. He has been handing the ball off with his right hand since the injury took place.

Palmer was hoping to put off the surgery for a few more weeks with the Bengals going further into the playoffs.

However, with the team falling to the New York Jets Saturday in the opening round of the playoffs, Palmer’s date with the surgeon is now right around the corner.

The Bengals quarterback finished the season with 3,094 passing yards, 21 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
