The Chicago Bears wasted little time in signing running back Harvey Unga after selecting him in the seventh-round of last week’s NFL Supplemental Draft.

On Wednesday, the Bears signed Unga to a four-year contract.

He left BYU as the Cougars’ all-time leading rusher with 3,455 yards on 696 carries. He also rushed for 36 touchdowns, adding another nine on pass receptions.

Unga received a signing bonus worth approximately $60,250 according to Brad Biggs of the National Football Post.

The team also released undrafted free agents DT Jimmy Saddler-McQueen from Texas A&M-Kingsville and WR Vic Hall from UVA.

The latter is likely to make room for quarterback Mike Teel who is expected to sign with the team shortly.
