After initially turning them down, quarterback Todd Collins has decided to join the Chicago Bears.
The move comes less than a week after the team signed Matt Gutierrez to help sure up their lacking quarterback situation.
Collins signed a one-year contract with the team. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The 38-year-old quarterback should serve as the primary backup for Jay Cutler until Caleb Hanie is able to return from a shoulder injury.
It is unclear as to whether there will be a roster spot for Collins into September as Gutierrez and Dan LeFevour are also competing to be the team’s No. 3 quarterback.
