Jarron Gilbert was among the plethora of Chicago Bears cuts Saturday

Among the 21 players cut Saturday by the Chicago Bears were their top draft picks from 2009.

Defensive lineman Jarron Gilbert and wide receiver Juaquin Iglesias, both third-rounders, were given their walking papers Saturday as the Bears trimmed their roster to 53.

Iglesias was hampered by an injury throughout training camp and didn’t set the world on fire in his rookie season, having played in just one game.

Gilbert, meanwhile, could catch on with another team or wind up on the practice squad after recording two sacks this preseason.

The Bears also released linebacker and specials teams standout Tim Shaw.

Woodny Turenne – Cornerback
Barry Turner – Defensive End
Tim Walter – Center
Aaron Webster – Safety
Eddie Williams – Fullback
Edwin Williams – Offensive Lineman
Mick Williams – Defensive End

29-yeard-old journeyman tight end Richard Angulo also had his contract terminated. He was out of football in 2009 after bouncing aroudn the league since 2003.
