The Kansas City Chiefs will release running back Dontrell Savage and wide receiver Devard Darling on Friday according to Josh Looney of the Chief’s website.
Darling averaged one reception per game last season while Savage was used primarily on returns.
In other AFC West notes, the Denver Broncos are expected to split carries between Knowshon Moreno and Correll Buckhalter next season.
Coach Josh McDaniels is a fan of splitting the carries.
“That’s something we’ll always be interested in,” McDaniels told the Colorado Springs Gazette. “If there’s another player we can put into the mix and share carries, we’ll never be averse to that.”
Last season Moreno handled about two-thirds of the carries while Buckhalter carried the rest of the load.
